Welcome to East Side Neighborhood Development Company (ESNDC) Founded by East Side residents and business owners in 1979, ESNDC works to help revitalize the neighborhood through housing opportunities and assistance, business assistance, and services to families through the Eastside Family Center. ESNDC collaborates with community members, business owners and funding agencies to develop a vision for the future of our community and implement strategies to make that vision a reality. In 2009, ESNDC will celebrate 30 years of accomplishments in the East Side Neighborhood. Among those accomplishments are the renovation and opening of the Payne Avenue Bank Building now called the Eastside Financial Center for which ESNDC has received the 2008 St. Paul Heritage Preservation Award sponsored by the Saint Paul Heritage Preservation Commission, the Saint Paul Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the State Historic Preservation Office as a part of National Preservation Month in May. (See More Info) The Bank Building was purchased by ESNDC in 1999 after several plans for the building fell through. Through lots of hard work and donations by many funders, the Bank Building celebrated its grand opening on January 7, 2008 Lutheran Social Service and US Federal are open for business in the renovated building. Soon to open is the Cultural Wellness Center and other businesses. Information about upcoming events and additional businesses in the Eastside Financial Center will be posted in the coming months.
